Recently, Heluna Health was thrilled to celebrate this year’s graduating seniors at Hacienda La Puente Unified School District (HLPUSD) Office of Equity & Access’ annual Graduation Ceremony.
In addition to our partners and direct service programs, Heluna Health has been supporting HLPUSD’s Office of Equity & Access through various events since 2017 as part of our broader commitment to community impact. Our staff have participated in their Adopt-a-family/student events, shopping for gifts from the student wish lists, and, since 2021, we have donated more than 120 gift cards and 200 Heluna Health duffel bags for the graduating seniors’ gift bags.
This year, on May 7th, more than 40 graduates from across the district participated in the celebration and received special certificates and medals, along with gift bags that included Heluna Health duffel bags, in recognition of their hard work and accomplishments.
The HLPUSD’s Office of Equity & Access supports 1,200 school-aged McKinney-Vento students across the district and is committed to providing essential resources to help them stay in school and graduate despite the challenges they face. The Equity & Access Office ensures that youth in foster care and youth experiencing homelessness or housing instability have equitable access to education and support, enabling students to thrive academically, socially, emotionally, and physically.
