Heluna Health has announced that Peter Dale, MA, will serve as interim President and CEO following the retirement of longtime President and CEO Blayne Cutler, MD, PhD.
Peter is a seasoned leader with more than 25 years of experience in both the public and private sectors. For the past 13 years, he has served as Heluna Health’s chief program officer, overseeing a period of significant growth and impact for the organization.
As chief program officer, Peter led the Contracts and Grants Management (CGM) department in managing a nearly $10 billion portfolio and in increasing Heluna Health contracts by 40% since 2016. He also guided CGM’s expansion into new service areas, including homelessness programs and outbreak response, and secured master agreements with several local and county health departments. Peter also continues to lead and manage a myriad of Heluna Health direct service programs.
“Today, I am humbled and honored to begin my role as Heluna Health’s Interim President and Chief Executive Officer,” Peter said. “My commitment to support and serve our employees and organization is clear. I feel truly blessed to work shoulder to shoulder with our outstanding employees, our partners and the communities we serve.”
Prior to joining Heluna Health, Peter served on active duty as a U.S. Air Force contracting officer and worked for various large environmental, aerospace and nonprofit organizations. Peter also worked as the Director of Contract Administration for the Los Angeles Unified School District and RAND Corporation, supporting the second largest school district in the nation and the National Security Research Division Intelligence Policy Center and Project Air Force respectively.
Peter is a Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM) and an active member of the National Grant Management Association. Peter earned a bachelor of arts degree in Psychology from California State University and a master of arts degree in Psychology (Marriage Family Child Counseling/MFT) from Chapman University.
